Gia-Gina Across the Pond

So I've decided to follow my husband to his native Italy. Follow our adventures as we eat, drink, travel, adapt to and explore this remarkable country. Part food blog, part photo blog but mostly my rants and raves. After our two years in Italy, we relocated across the Atlantic "pond" and are back in the States.

Bamboo Mishap or Disaster?

We love the look of bamboo flooring. I like the fact it is a renewable resource and it is cheap. This summer we did our research and visited quite a few design centers and model homes. The bamboo is a really great choice for us since it is hard, strong and very durable. With the environmental sensibilities of people the live in the Northwest, we think this is a great selling point for us in the future.

Look to the gray area to the right of the flooring. When the nasty, old carpet was ripped up, it revealed that the concrete sub-floor below was cracked and not level. The floor installer will try to level out the floor with various concrete leveling products and we are keeping our fingers crossed.
